Pain can destroy a human life.

Havoc skulks within,
a prisoner lives inside,
pains and sufferings cheer in triumph.
There's no escape -- I'm imprisoned,
unable to defend myself,
powerless to fight a crippling condition.
I'm doomed, doomed,
as I struggle to find freedom from this misery.
I cling to a flicker of hope --
hang onto a tenterhook killing time.
