This was a comment in response to another writer's blog here on the Den.
We all get frustrated from time to time, Kiddo. I thought when I put my poetry book on sale here that I'd get orders. I'm glad I didn't count on it. Two orders from the Den.
My book has sold OK otherwise. I've promoted it locally and have it in many locations in the metro St. Louis area. But I didn't write or publish it to get rich. I just wanted to share my writing with others.
I wish there were an easy answer to your question. I've pondered many times over the years beginning a publishing company to help other frustrated writers.
In January, I made it a reality. I started Phantom House Publishing, published my second book of poetry, started a regional magazine called "Rollin' On The River Magazine" and started selling ads. The first edition came out in May and next week the August issue will hit the stands here.
I guess that may be the answer... Like the Nike commercial says: JUST DO IT!
Phantom House Publishing will be printing a quarterly poetry magazine beginning with the winter edition. I'm accepting submissions until December 10 with the initial magazine coming January 1, 2009.

I've always said I am nota poet..there are many wonderful ones on this site; however...I'd like to look thru my little stack and possibly submit something to you... Very nifty, Chuck! I will check out your web site. I loved St. Louis when I spent my junior year of high school there. Clayton, MO, was my favorite--so beautiful in the fall. . . and Forest Park in the winter! A dream come true for a California kid!
