A Seat At The Table

          Recently I saw a post from 2017 in my memories that made me think about how Jesus had reserved y seat at the table. In the post, there was a picture that was an imitation of the last supper, but the people at the table surrounding Jesus were from every lifestyle in society. I was reminded of how grateful I am that He waited for me.

         This was during the recent Easter season and it triggered several memories from my past before my born-again experience. I remembered that when I lived in New York City, I used to pass by the street preachers in the Times Square area. They were standing on the corners with microphones and speakers blasting the Word of God with fire calling unbelievers. On several occasions as I walked by, I accepted the tracts they put in my hand, but I would walk some distance to another block before I dropped them. I did not want them to see me discard it in front of them. Sometimes, I would cross the street to avoid them completely.

         The life that I was living at that time was far from the right side of the cross. Even though I grew up in church, I did not know the love that the Father had for me through His son, Jesus. There was no intimacy even though I had respect. It was when I got the revelation, the minute that the light illuminated my mind and heart, of the love of God that I entered into this great adventure of a new life in Christ.

         I didn’t know that there was a seat reserved for me at the table. He has already prepared and made everything ready for me to come into the Kingdom. Sometimes we need to remember that He held the seat, waiting patiently, knowing the day of our deliverance. Psalm 23:5 states “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” 

         Even though the verse continues with the location in the presence of one’s enemies. Could these enemies, be the enemies of your soul and spirit that have kept you in bondage to the lack of the knowledge of His love? Some versions of this scripture state that there was a meal and provisions on the table for one who is a welcomed guest. Is the food the Word of God? Are the provisions those things that were made ready and kept ready just for you until the appointed time of your departure from the kingdom of darkness and entrance into the Kingdom of God?

         Invitations were given to me each time I passed by the street preachers and took a tract. Did they pray over the tract? I did not realize at that time how much Jesus loved me. During this time in my life, there were days that I would visit a church near me during my lunch hour. I would just sit and look up at Jesus hanging on the wooden cross over the pulpit. It is amazing that now I realize that He was there all the time, watching, waiting, and protecting me for His Kingdom purpose. His eyes were always on me as I gazed at Him, He watched lovingly.

         There was a seat at the table even though I was broken, in bondage, and scarred. His grace and mercy covered me while He repaired the damage that the enemy had inflicted upon me. He made me over on continues as I am a work in progress. Remembering the past, and how I rejected Him, I am so very glad that He did not reject me. The evidence of His power is displayed in my life and I am advertisement how mighty He is.

         It is the love of God and the realization of how much He loves you that will deliver on into their destiny. The power of that one thought will change your life. He took time to fearfully and wonderfully make you a masterpiece for His display. 

          Our lives are designed to glorify God for the great purpose and destiny that He has ordained no matter what your background may be. There is not one that can take your place, because He has never made anyone like you. Your seat is waiting for you to occupy it and it is designed for only you. He is waiting for you., God+Me=Unlimited Possibilities.

So the Lord wants to show you kindness. He waits on high to have loving-pity on you. For the Lord is a God of what is right and fair. And good will come to all those who hope in Him. Isaiah 30:18 NLV

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. ⁹ Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
