This is the true story of how my oldest brother became

a reluctant tv star . Bob still maintains that he pulled off the

 best practical joke of the decade and embarrassed John in

front of his whole senior high school class. It was a classic and

 perfect and I have heard this story many times over the
years.

 




My brother John was a very intelligent boy of 18 at the time

and lived an exemplary life devoted to clean fun and good

living (so he says!) He was polite to strangers, typed his

homework neatly and was never tardy. Most of his

friends liked him but a few thought he was a "nerd".  John

just wished to stay pure and free from bad influences.

Unfortunately for John, he had a brother Bob that would

do anything to tarnish John's angelic lifestyle. . John's

virtuous life was about to unfold into the following

embarrassing and demeaning hilarious practical joke that

kept us in stitches...

It is not exactly clear who is responsible,there is alot of

evidence to the fact that Bob is the culprit.  According
to the story passed down to me, Bob sent a

wallet size photo of  John to a children's tv program called

"Captain Bob". Now isn't that ironic..  It was a very

popular cartoon show and lots of John's friends  watched it
every afternoon after school.

 The photo was the yearly one taken for the senior class

yearbook. The photo was aired during the late afternoon

 cartoon hour and included John's full name and address. By

5:00 pm that afternoon, all of John's friends and fellow

students had either watched the tv cartoon program or heard

about it. Total strangers smiled at John and giggled behind his

back when he walked down the street.

Mild applause broke out when John entered his homeroom

at high school the next morning. John blushed and shrugged

his shoulders in defeat.


Bob was seen smiling all day...

John never watched that cartoon show ever again.

It became Bob's favorite show...


That afternoon, John waited for Bob in the school yard.

I think he socked him one!

All I know is that Bob put some ice on his eye that

afternoon...

Was John smiling the next day?

For reasons which remain unclear, police authorities did

not conduct an official investigation.
