Should we help if someone ask for help or just turn a blind eye?

Finally, I’m back on my desk again. What really bugged me was an incident that happened this afternoon. My car broke down right on top of an overhead bridge. I had to wait for my mechanic for two and half hours under the scorching sun.
While waiting, I was honked and yelled at for causing a major traffic jam. Some idiot even suggested that I should push my car way. How selfish can one be, without even offering any help? Two patrol cars passed by and looked at me with disgust, as if I was at fault. A rider finally came, not to help, but rudely and arrogantly asked me to MOVE. When my car broke down 11 years ago, I got helped by so many people.
What is wrong with society today? Are people becoming selfish, too busy, too ignorant or just turning a blind eye? I believe that people are too caught up with themselves and their life that they just forget about the others.
The moral of the society in a developing nation is deteriorating. People will only help if you offer them monetary reward or if they want to be publicly recognized. I hear everyday in the news, our head of the country preaching us to be a better nation, to be world’s number one in everything. He forgets the most important part as a human being. We are not robots, just work and no feelings. Everyday, our bodies are synchronized to do repetitive things. Go to work, make money,pick up your child, be with your family and your circles of friends. Anything or anyone else, don’t bother.
Planting good moral values and practice good ethics in our every day life should be taught at schools, religious sessions and through the media.
What cost would it take for a developing country to be a successful nation. A nation will only be successful if we have good people at heart. A country that is full of greed, with no moral values and just working towards material wealth will be as good as dead.
