Graves in the Wilderness continues to gather pace in the US

My publisher told me a year ago to observe one thing above all else ... PATIENCE! Of course he was right. Only fellow writers know that feeling of impatience after publication. Will the book sell? Will it be accepted and receive kind reviews? Was all of that effort wasted?
Fortunately, almost always, a book, any book will find its readers, it simply takes time ... patience. Breaking into new markets with an unknown name is hard, hard work. But the rewards do come, first as a trickle and then gaining momentum as the name, both book and author become known.
And that has been my experience with 'Graves in the Wilderness'. I was told not to expect too much success in the hard-to-sell historical fiction market but I've discovered that there is a robust following of the genre, and I believe that it's growing.
Comforted that 'Graves in the Wilderness' is traveling well now and getting noticed, I figure that it's time to finish yet another historical fiction piece. After all, it's what I like writing and now I know that there are readers who enjoy that genre and my treatment of it ... well, why not pull out all stops?
If you are a writer of historical fiction, don't despair and what ever you do, don't switch genre's.
