Things that make me go hum!

(Some will find this essay offensive, so be it. I find many things offensive in this time in today’s world.)

Many of today’s Black women have been heard saying I don’t need no man which is really a layer coating of I want a man.Not just a male gender individual but a man.What many are faced with is like a once poplar song, “Walk like a man”,. There are many males out there walking like a man but unfortunately that is where the example ends and symbolism begins. Too may males have a living construct which allows them to worship their gender only and they position themselves as Gods who don’t need Goddesses.

They create religions where all knowledge and God becomes a male like figure and a gender God. Women are then reduced to sin carrying entities in their lives and must be kept in a submissive position. This construct is so strong that it leaps across cultures, nations, and countries; it has global ramifications on most of the planet we call earth. It is quite easy to say that perhaps this writer/speaker is heading toward the creation of a feminine Godhead, not really. What I choose to describe is the existence of an unlimited God. A God that doesn’t require gender identification nor the need to elevate one gender higher than the other. Blasphemy, I think not, complex, not really, but a God that does not need subjects/people to destroy each other because of their differences in approaching God. Currently the world stage is filled with powerful people who want to repeat history by reopening the Crusades where God filled, their definition, men seek to kill each other for possession of the holy city. How is one city more holy than the other Mecca, or Jerusalem? How is one group of people more holy than the other?

How can some leaders who could be seemingly intelligent believe that only those who look, act, and believe as they expect to be respected by those like myself sitting on the sidelines. All man created books listed as the holy of holies contain every word  believed to have been spoken to man by God. It is true that in their books there is a history of war, plunder, and bloodshed. If you don’t believe it read the major books of the current believers of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. I’m not about to quote from them for you, do your homework. In researching for yourself remember that these tomes were written by men, revised by men, and in most arenas taught by men.

I often wonder how they would read if written by women, would men be considered the harbingers of sin? Would women who broke God’s alleged laws and directives claim when questioned about their transgressions blame the men for their prediction ?

I am still holding out for a non gender unlimited God who doesn’t have to be called him or her just God. I marvel at God’s patience when watching this creation mankind destroy themselves and their planet, and I am happy to be blessed with a male mate who is a man unafraid of women, and accepts full responsibility for his actions. My man has blessed me with his presence in my life for more than fifty (50) years and he remains unthreatened by my personal growth or lack of it. He knows that I am truly a madwoman who was lucky enough to find the mad man created especially for me at the dawn of creation. The God in me salutes and honors the God in him. I also salute Nicholas Krugman economist and OP ED columnist for the New York Times who said recently that he sympathizes with the Arabs horror at what is happening in Lebanon but he wishes they were just as outraged when Muslims slaughter Muslims in Darfur. He also is a man up in this writers’ opinion as many are slowly rising from the dust of today’s’ current madness. What will be left for my granddaughters’ inheritance? I fear that we have not prepared her for the future she will face if the powerful continue business as usual.. Many decry abortions but think nothing of killing babies of all combatants in the fields of meaningless wars. To which God will you appeal to make a plea for peace and allow young people the world over to grow, live in harmony and be productive? If God was a tree we should all run to the forest before we destroy the planet.
