Are many Americans richer now than Donald Trump? It would seem so after last week. As a result of his big mouth which has dug him in a hole, he now owes E. Gene Carroll 83.3 million dollars plus an additional 5 million from his first trial. He also owes the State of New York 355 million dollars in a civil fraud case.

New York has a quirky laws that charges him 9% interest which ups the total to 450 million dollars. Adding in the daily interest of 9% annually, by the time the dust settles, the total should come to about 500 million dollars or half a billion dollars. So far the total is 588.3 million plus accruing interest of 9 %

Trump also owes 110,000 dollars for refusing to obey a subpoena in a civil fraud case and another 15,000 dollars for disparaging the Judge’s law clerk. A grand total of 588.3 million plus 125,000 plus 9% interest. 

Is there any hope for Trump? A kindly matron is trying to come to Trump’s rescue. Elena Cardone opened up a GoFundMe page for poor trump. In  the first three days, it has raised only 0.5 million, or 434,000 dollars from 8800 donors which doesn’t even cover the interest he owes. That’s an average of 49 dollars per donor. Good luck with that.

What is poor Trump to do? According to Suzanne Craig, an investigative reporter for the New York Times, Trump has been liquidating some of his real estate holdings. Speaking of the New York Times it turns out that Trump also owes 400,000 dollars to the New York Times after an unsuccessful lawsuit. He also has a judgement of 938,000 dollars for a frivolous lawsuit against Hillary Clinton. A grand total of over 589 million dollars. The 9% interest will probably bring the total over 590 million dollars or even 600million dollars.

Desperate men do desperate things. He recently attended a sneaker convention in Philadelphia where he was loudly booed after trying to hawk some gold plated sneakers on the poor attendees. He offered them for sale at a mere price of $399 per pair. Pictures of the sneakers show a pair of ugly tacky sneakers with gold plated sides. 

Imagine trying to run a marathon or cross-train in them . One positive side to the sneakers other than the gold is your calves becoming the size of cantaloupes from the weight of all that gold. Supposedly, the preordered for the sneakers have sold out. As P. T Barnum once said , “There is a sucker born every minute.”

So, are most Americans richer than Trump? I don’t know of many Americans who owe an avoidable 600 million dollars plus his legal fees.. Recent articles are saying that most MAGA donors are tapped out. No help there.
