Do you have friends or relatives that are in need? Do you know with a little bit of your time and money you could make a family happy? Do you know the look of a smiling child’s face? Do you know the look of a hungry, dirty child and especially at Christmas time? If the answer is yes read on.

I have a friend who does not have much money but knew of a family living near her that was in great need. It is Christmas time and the parents of these four children were alcoholics and drug addicts. Their children suffered for these addictions. Usually the father would call churches in advance and ask for food, clothing and toys for his children. But this year he was late in his phone call and his kids were out of luck.

My friend took it upon herself to call all the churches listed until she found one that still had clothes, toys and food available. She piled all the children into her car and took them to the church. They were able to pick out toys and clothes and this year they will have Christmas. The last stop of the day was to treat these four children to lunch and my friend had as much fun as they did. Her heart expanded when she knew these four children were happy.

Anybody can pick up the telephone and make those telephone calls to get help for a loved one, friend or acquaintance. The point I am trying to make is that it is easier to ignore the obvious when it is starring you right in the face.

If you have money and can afford to adopt a family in need why not take the next step and do it. Buy them what they need. You will be the one to receive the most out of this act of kindness. Your self-esteem will soar and your adopted family will have a Merry Christmas and a much better life.
