Take five minutes out of your busy day

You and Me

Hello my friend! Yes, you - sitting at your screening sharing my words, this very moment in time. First, I would like to say, "Thank you."

Kind of feels odd, don't you think? I mean, when was the last time a writer bothered to personally thank you for giving your time to read their words?

And do you ever wonder what the writer of the words you read (in this instance, me and my words) is like? I mean, as a 'real life' person? Who knows - you may be the only person to read these words, and even if not, you may be the only person who truly connects with them enough to remember this 'conversation' when your PC is switched off. Perhaps I have brightened your day a little. I would like to think that is the case, but I also know that your life will go on with things which are far more important to you than this 'unconventional conversation'.

But while you and I are 'conversing', perhaps this will give you a break from some of the worries that we all have in our day-to-day lives. And the truth is, in many ways, we probably share a lot in common! At the very least just as members of the human race. Sure, our outlook on life will probably be different, our circumstances and responsibilities will be different, and we could just as easily consider a whole heap more. Yours and my differences. But I have always thought that when we consider and focus on all the differences, we face becoming more isolated.

So what obvious things do we share? Well for a start, there's the fact that we chose to share these words and share a little of each others' time. And it doesn't matter that we are different ages or from different backgrounds. The point is, we found some grounds in common with each other. Just imagine! If we could achieve this - you and I - with every person we ever came into contact with. I know it may seem idealistic, but it makes you think!

So, rather than take up any more of your precious time - stop you from doing what other things you need to be getting on with, I better let you go. But, please don't forget that I truly appreciated this brief time together. If you feel you would like to share a few moments more together, sometime in the future, why don't you look me up again, Or drop me a quick line, maybe? And if you do think about our brief time we just shared, maybe you have a friend who would like to say hi to me too? Tell them to come along, and 'meet' the writer you met today.

Anyways, again, I just want to say Thank you, and hope we meet again.
