Honeymooning in Africa...safari camp
In Africa's Northern Province, west of Kruger National Park, lies an exclusive 12 bed safari camp. Garonga Bush and Game Lodge is a bushveld haven, better known for it's honeymoon safari offerings. Set in the center of the most breathtaking land, the reserve forms part of the Makalali wildlife conservancy and offers in depth experiences for bush lovers who seek more than the classic African encounters. A panorama of excitement and danger of the wild, while indulging in the most luxurious honeymoon surroundings, awaits you.
Of the dozen suites available in this fabulously appointed camp, six of them are nestled into ebony trees on the banks of a water course that commands a beautiful view. Each suite has a private deck, indoor and outdoor shower with an open plan living area. A wine cellar, swimming pool, and sala for aromatherapy sessions is also included in the luxury accomodations. The Hamleden Suite, known as the honeymoon suite, holds every luxury noted in the other eleven, however; it has unparralleled luxury, making it a once in a lifetime experinece. The regal Balinese influence, reeks of romance and decadence. There is a mystique surrounding old-colonial Africa that creates and captures a strikingly elegant, warm and tactile atmosphere.
A private game vehicle is provided with advisement on how to procure a driver and tracker. The private deck allows guests to enjoy the outdoor view; a green area across the pool that is usually occupied by a large group of elephants. At any moment the visions can and do change, one marvelous creature after another, because the Garonga Safari Camp has a variety of wildlife including lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, leopard, and a large variety of antelope and herbivores such as giraffe.
Schedule a morning Game Drive, about three hours, complete with hot coffee and fresh biscuits along the way. Don't forget the camera and film. Surely the holistic wildlife experience may be everlasting, often described as a true inspiration in nature.
The Hambleden Suite is a honeymooners dream. Rich fabrics cover the overstuffed four poster bed, adorned with thick, yet see through fabric surrounding the four corners, not to keep out insects, more for the decadent glamour that it evokes. A magnificent gold inlaid bathtub with claw feet, Balinese marble floors, invite you to soak indoors with warm bubbly water, and adding scents of aromatic jasmine and gardenia to fill the air. You may also choose the floating bathtub...with dozens of lit candles reminding you of the stars forming a ceiling above.
Become aware of the peaceful sanctuary that is remininscent of how a garden would look if it were a fairytale. Later dine on a floating platform overlooking the water, where the waiters paddle out to serve drinks, then be ready to enjoy the marvelous dinner which will be served by candlelight, while you watch the vibrant sunsets, with their magnificent swirls of orange, yellow and crimson.
An African Safari Honeymoon can be filled with romance and adventure, set in an untamed nature setting. By the way, if you are asking yourself, "how much?", then it's probably not affordable; however, just remember that a fairytale honeymoon is priceless.
