Who wouldn't want health insurance for all the children, seniors and uninsured who have no other recourse than to run up hospital bills instead of going to their physician for competent, familiar and individual care.
I, myself, threw my back out again yesterday and spent the evening before Christmas Eve in the ER, waiting for a doctor to give me a pain shot, a prescription for ibuprohen, and muscle relaxers. Like every other trip to the ER, they couldn't say what was wrong with me,
They advised me I need to see my primary physician and get an MRI. All this money and they pass me on to my doctor. They were even going to discharge me without talking to a doctor. I insisted to speak to a doctor anyway. I have medicare but my husband is laid off and the insurance we paid on for years we didn't use. Now we need it because we're getting older
and our parts are wearing out. We're fortunate to be doing okay. One thing about us Americans is even when we get down, most of us can manipulate our circumstances, start our own businesses, work to our advantage in other ways. For many of us losing our jobs just gave us new opportunities or time and energy to pursue other career choices and long-time dreams.
Everything happens for a reason, for this I am sure. Even though my husband was laid off and I panicked, he has found other ways to bring home the bacon. He is my heroe. I am his. This is what love is all about. Supporting each other in times of crisis.
Even though writing doesn't bring in much money, he encourages me. He wants me to keep writing and he will keep feeding and providing for me so I can write. I'm hoping to keep passing on his compassion to others.
I hope we all wake up tomorrow free to be healthy, happy and hopeful that all of us have health insurance. Merry Xmas, and Happy New Year's.

Take the corruption out of heath care and there will be ten times over the money ready to expend in children, cancer patients, elderly, handicap and disable soldiers (even enough money to eradicate homelessness)
