This article is about a former friend and classmate, Dorothy Cleo

Johnson Watkins.  On December 24,2008, Dorothy passed away.

She had been ill for a long time, but was always happy with her

situation.  While I visited with her on numerous occasions, found her

to be in good spirits.  Dorothy was an individual who showed much

courage.  When looking at the definition of courage, it means the

quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger,

and pain without fear.  Even though Dorothy suffered, she was still

courageous, but did this with bravery.

Her trait of character was very strong.  We as people, when are

sometimes faced with adversity want to give up, but it was a strength

for Dorothy.  With all the suffering she experienced only made her

realize the many blessings she had.

If I ever looked up to someone who is considered to be a hero, then

it's Dorothy.  Dorothy was a faithful member of the Fourth Avenue

Church of Chirst, Dallas, Texas.  Along with her personal family,

church family, many friends, but especially me will be sorely missed.

To Dorothy, my classmate, friend, and sister in Christ, may you

sleep in peace until we meet again.  Let us always remember:

     "Love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast.  It is not proud,

       it is not rude, it is not easily angered, it keeps no recored

       wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in faith.  It

       always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always

       perserves.  Love never fails.  And now these three remain:

       Fatih, hope, and charity, but the greatest of these is love."
