First of all let me say that I am using a new keyboard so any and all misspelled words and bad grammar can be sourced to that. I have to break it in.
One big difference already is the Delete key. My last keyboard obviously realized I would be making a lot of mistakes and had a rather large delete key right up front.
I had to look for this one, a little itty-bitty fellow next to the F keys way up at the top.
I think this keyboard is for those who either rarely make mistakes or rarely write. I am neither.
I will try not to make mistakes, but mistakes are not made by people trying to make them.
I think I will send a note to the manufacturer suggesting they put a note on the package confessing the tiny delete key.
I’ve been having trouble already.
You probably are wondering why I have a new keyboard. If not, why aren’t you? It’s the natural thing to do.
When my last computer died, at a not so early age, I replaced it. The keyboard that came with it had a USB cable connection. I plugged it into the back, but it did not work well there. I plugged it into the front but it did not work well there either. There were no other options so I got along as well as I could having to jiggle it around. Finally it jiggled but did not come around.
A message came up stating, “The USB connection has malfunctioned and will not come around again.”
So I purchased a wireless one with batteries that are supposed to last up to three years. I think that’s probably if I don’t use it? I will use it, so it may go at any time.
That is a common malady these days. Incompatible software or hardware that makes stuff not work or not work well. I've had the opposite situation where I couldn't make a wireless keyboard work and had to plug it in to USB. Besides, batteries generally only work about three months, even though I don't use the keyboard much, dictating with my voice.
I have gone back to buying 10-year-old keyboards in "good refurbished condition" because the latest keyboard for my Mac is so flat I can no longer one finger type well and two finger typing like using the shift and a letter key for a capital is nearly impossible. I miss the delete key, the page up and page down keys, and a number pad that I always found convenient on extended keyboards. Fortunately, USB connections have improved and have not gone obsolete like so many others.
