Intertwined throughout, are quirky characters with funny flaws. There’s the uppity woman next door who harbors a grudge toward Billy since her dog ate several heirloom tomatoes; a woman named Georgette, co-worker of Billy’s at the bakery and bitter toward an ex-love. Then there’s Billy’s “official” yet oddball boyfriend (not Seth) who ends the barely-there relationship then surprises her with reconciliation via Burger King under a bitterly cold and windy sky. Who murdered Ted? It could be any one.

Billy Cabot is refreshingly real. She puts pounds onto an already-curvy frame yet remains beautiful with full lashes and a kind, artistic soul. Ever upbeat, she seeks an impenetrable love and career.
