Ever have such a bad nightmare and it just seems to go on and on,  so musch so...that morning can't seem to come fast enough?
Well,  THAT'S how it was this morning for me.

     But I know a secret ( actually it's a very popular secret. Just not commonly used ). 
Yesterday, I triedto play a musi CD of Jackie Gleason Band music I'd picked up from a local thrift store, and it wouldn't play. The red digital number indicating the song track usually blinks on when its ready to play, but this time it appeared as a little blinking dash---and it really annoyed me, because I realized that the format it was in was probably incompatible with the format my CD player was able to  play. 
     You probably know what I mean,  right?  How our technology has gone from being user-friendly to being a real tease...a huge disappointment.  Like I often tell my friends, "Somebody must have broken the E-Z button."

     Anyways. I tried for several minutes to get it to work, but with no success.  Suddenly, it occured to me that I know somebody who is a genius at fixing things!  So, I contacted him immediately.
     I didn't even take the time to close my eyes or put my hands a certain way, I just pleaded "Lord, please HELP me!" 
     I had already inserted it eight times, but pushed it in one more time and... it began to play the first song!
     Now, maybe like me you may have been tempted to say it was luck, or coincidence. ( boy some of us are such s l o w learners, eh?

     I admit to being prone to feeling anxious, especially in the world we find ourselves in today, and I'm not going to pretend I've got life all figured out, but do you ever wonder what this anxiety is that we all experience?
     Is'nt it really about feeling like we aren't in control?  So we try to gain this control in various ways.  Maybe more money? More social likes and connections? More power? 

     In many of my daily situations, like technological glitches...I'm tempted to blame  the manufacturer, corporation, or the decision makers in some board room. Or maybe where some product was made?  Then I feel like calling down fire from Heaven! ( maybe you don't know what I mean ), then I dream of going on to Amazon and buying a new, improved gadget, or investing in a better one, or making some smart connections with anyone, in order to get something that actually works! 
   
     But my secret, which I referred to earlier, is this:  I already know someone who possesses all the power in the Universe. who knows everything and everybody, AND literally owns every single atom in exitence! So, HE is my secret.  Billions of people know ABOUT him, but far fewer people actually know him one on one.  And the crazy good thing is...He makes Himself available to anyone. Doesn't matter  how young or old you are,  how much money you have, whether you're a young man, young woman, or child...or how good you are. This is exactly why Jesus told us " be anxious for nothing, Fear not.

     This morning  was more tense than a ROCK. My shoulders were so tight, they really ached. When I stepped into the hot shower this morning, it helped...a little.  But I didn't really relax until I talked to my Lord in secret.
     When this old world is weighing me down, I know who to call. And now? If you didn't before?  You know now.  You know the world's more popular secret.  Where to go when you experience the kind of fear that makes you sweat bullets. When you are dreading tomorrow. When you have a problem that seems to defy a solution.  Now you know about the Lord Jesus Christ. Most people know about Him. Now, if you haven't  taken the time?  Do what I did over fiftty years ago. Get to know Jesus Christ. He's waiting for you, He's ready when you are.
