Are you a Generalist or Eclectic Social Work Clinician? 4/20/2009 5:08:01 PM
There are many ways to practice social work. In this blog, Lakeisha desires to know what people's thoughts are in the best type of social work practice? Do you prefer to be a generalist or to be eclectic in practice? Social WOrk opens up many doors for people to receive the treatment they need. There is Bowenian practice, Fruedian practice (Psychodynamic therapy), and many others. Is it best to practice using all types of theories in practice or should a social worker specialize in a particular area? What are your thoughts?
I personally believe that each person's situation may require the use of a particular type of therapy. Therefore, I personally like to be ecletic in providing therapy for clients.
