Why I'm Voting for Obama 9/25/2008 2:01:31 PM
Corruption has been rampant—Ted Stevens, Trent Lott, Enron, Tom Delay, and Karl Rove—the list is endless. Economic collapse seems evident. The worst financial crisis since the Great Depression is forcing our leaders to chat.
We are weeks away from a momentous presidential election. Our task as citizens is to determine the best man to replace George W. Bush. This election cycle, we are lucky. Two excellent candidates are vying for the job.
John McCain served our country in the House and the Senate since 1982 and he risked his life when he fought in Viet Nam. Barack Obama chose to help the little guy as a community organizer when he finished top in his class at Harvard Law. He was an Illinois State legislator and is a US Senator. Both men have a strong sense of morality and ethics.
During the past eight years of Republican rule, Bush appointed regulators have turned a blind eye to Wall Street thieves. Today we are witnessing a Financial 9/11 caused by these selfish crooks.
I’m sure McCain can unclog the White House plumbing like a good Rotor Rooter man. New people will be put in place in his freshly minted cabinet. How about the subordinates and department heads running Washington? How about the rats? Will he be able to shift current Republican regulators who have given Wall Street crooks a wink and a nod while stuffing their pockets with taxpayer money? Will he be able to uncover honest Republican bureaucrats? I doubt it.
Obama can. He’ll bring in the pest control and substitute the rats with fellow Democrats with a mandate to change. They’ll be powered by new governmental regulations to prevent this economic melt down to ever occur again. An Obama administration will provide the needed breath of fresh air Americans have needed for a long time.
We are entering a period in American History that may rival the Great Depression. I want a man in the White House I can trust—a man of integrity to clean up the Republican mess. Obama is that man.
