What type of crown(s) will you wear in Heaven? 6/21/2010 8:08:55 AM
When the Olympic runners finished a race, the winners usually get medals, some get gold, and some get silver depending on how they finished. At the time of the Roman Empire, they gave a laurel reef to the winner. When we finish the spiritual race on earth we'll be receiving our reward at the Bema seat judgment from the Lord Jesus Himself just as the Lord has promised us.
This isn't a judgment for salvation and isn't about sin, but about works, service, and stewardship of our lives. At the Jesus rewards program event, only the saved will show up for a review, reward, and evaluation of our life on earth. It is a time of revealing, and unconcealing all of our thoughts.
The crown of righteousness will be given to those who loved His appearing at the Rapture, and to those who were inspired by His imminent return. It's the easiest one to get of all crowns.
The crown of life, which the Lord has promised to everyone who suffered for His sake, persevered under trial, and stood the test with a cheerful spirit.
The crown incorruptible that will last forever, we get for beating the physical body and making it a slave so that after we had preached to others, we ourselves wouldn't be disqualified for the prize. We get it for keeping ourselves from the pleasures of the world in order to provide valuable service for the Lord.
The crown of glory, the shepherd's crown, we get for spiritually feeding the flock.
Finally, there is the crown of rejoicing, for winning lost souls.
Jesus will reward each person according to what he has done. After all, He gave His life for us, and we have to put something in His nail-scarred hands to appreciate what He has done for us.
