A young man came to his father and said, “What will you leave me when you die?” The father replied, “I spend and give away what I have freely, as I see fit. Do not depend on anything you might receive from me after my death.” The young man went away angry and neither visited nor spoke to his father again.
After many years, it happened that the son was on his deathbed before his father. Hearing about this, the father went to visit his son. When the father entered the room and his son’s eyes met his, he said to his son, “What will you leave me when you die?”
Seeing the folly of his anger, the son embraced his father openly.
