There's something for everyone here. Just a few books that I recommend:
Romance
Sea Swept, Rising Tides, Inner Harbor and Chesapeake Blue- By Nora Roberts
This is about the Quinn brother’s that were adopted into a loving family. Each book focuses on one of the brother’s, where they came from and where they are now. They each have a chance for love, but their past still haunts them, and insecurities resurface wondering if they are worthy to have someone to hold.
Ms. Roberts makes you feel apart of the story rather than just reading it. You cry for the abuse that each young child had to endure. You will admire the adopted parents that embraced each broken and scared child molding them into men worthy of respect.
You’ll want to read all four books.
Winds of Autumn by M. Jean Pike
I absolutely loved this story from beginning to end.
Angel is a young woman that has never known kindness, but fate of the spirits bring her to Littlebrook where she learns to heal.
Dr. Don Hanson is taken aback by how much Angel resembles his late wife, Mary. Old memories resurface making him face what he thought he had buried so long ago.
Cora Samuels takes Angel under her wing and shows her the meaning of a true family, while Cora’s sister, Pandora befriends Angel only to use her for her own purpose.
Don and Angel’s friendship grows into something true and meaningful, but like all relationships love doesn’t ensure that you’ll live happily-ever-after. Words can hurt, and doubts can take seed growing until there is no room for the truth. Only true love and respect can allow you to see through the deceptions.
Ms. Pike brings these characters alive baring their desires and passion whether they are for good or evil. You’re drawn into the lives of the people of Littlebrook, caring what happens to them and hoping that in the end love will triumph.
This is an excellent read! You will not be disappointed!

Time-Travel
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Henry is a man that suffers from Chrono-Displacement Disorder where he finds himself thrown to different times in his life as if the gravity pulls him to the past then the future with no apparent reason.
The time traveling experience centers on Henry and Clare’s relationship. You see their struggle to live a normal life and their unending love for each other. It is a heartwarming story of remembrance.
Be prepared to laugh and cry when you read this touching love story.
The Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Drums of Autumn, Voyager, Breath of Snow and Ashes, The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabledon
Join the story of Claire and Jaime Fraser
Claire is a woman from the World War II era that by some force of nature was sent back in time to eighteenth century Scotland. She is forced to marry Jaime Fraser, which is a problem for Claire since she is already married in her century.
I had bought the first three books because of a special with my book club never expecting to find that I would love these books and couldn’t wait until the next three to be written.
This is not just a love story. You will live the life of the eighteenth century. The author gives you wonderful detail account of how they lived, worked, the politics, making feel as though you have step back in time yourself.
You will fall in love with Jaime and want to take him home for your very own and you will admire Claire for her bravery and ability to never give up. The love that Jaime and Claire have goes beyond time and you will wish that their love story would never end.
Horror/Thriller
My all-time favorite author of this genre has to be Dean Koontz. He will scare you to death that someone could be that evil. I love how he makes the hero just your average Joe. Sometimes he makes you sit on the edge of your seat wanting to read faster just to find out what happened.
Some of my favorites:
Watchers-
(I believe this is his first novel) The government has been doing genetic alterations: a lovable intelligent dog and a violent monster of some sort. They both escape and of course the government wants them found and destroyed.
You will fall in love with the characters, Travis, Nora and Einstein, the lovable mutt. You’ll even feel something for the “Outsider”.
This story has everything, love, compassion, intrigue and suspense.
Cold Fire
Jim Ironheart has a mission: save lives. Holly Thorne is a reporter that wants to know his secret.
This story was sit at the edge of your seat because it was a constant count down for Jim to find the person that needs to be saved. I wanted to shout, “Find him!” It was nerve-racking, but at the same time you didn't wanted to put down the book.
Fear Nothing
Chris Snow has xeroderma pimentosum, which is a rare genetic disorder. Being exposed to sunlight could cause damage that could prove fatal. With the death of his father, he is thrown into a conspiracy that involves his hometown of Moonlight Bay. He does all his investigation at night with the help of two of his friends.
I loved the characters!
The second book is Seize the Night. I actually picked this book up first to read not realizing it was the sequel. It wasn’t a problem to read it first, but because of the growth that each of the characters goes through in the first book I would read these books in order. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Koontz at a book signing. He was very nice, but I see he didn’t take my recommendation to write the third book, which he seemed to hint of the possibility of one at the end of Seize the Night. Oh well…
Vampires
The Forgotten Scribes by Anthony W. Downen
This takes place after World War III. Aramis Faro is turned into a Vampire and not by choice. He doesn’t quite fully embrace his vampirism, hiding it from his friends until one night he saves a woman that by all rights should have died. Because of the events that led him to make her a vampire, they are now on the run seeking others like them. He runs into the vampire that made him, learning more than he ever wanted to know. What he believed in is now being questioned once he has read the only surviving copy of the Holy Bible.
I didn’t want to put down the book. It keeps you wanting to turn the next page and the ending is quite shocking!
The author has stated that a sequel is in the works! Can’t wait.
