Part Two As I have said before there were no winners to emerge from the rubble of FedCon USA but if you dig deep enough you may be able to find something positive to take away from the experience. As an invited guest my perspective will most definitely be different from that of the fans. For example, I fully expect my novel Escape 2 Earth to be made into a major motion picture in the not to distant future. Casting Will Smith and Jensen Ackles as two of the three main charters would be great but after spending some time talking with John Billingsley it occurred to me that he would be great in the role as the President of the United States. Yeah, I know that the casting directors make those kinds of calls but it's my story so I will at least get to put my two cents in. In addition to meeting John and his wife Bonita I met a couple of great guys name Cole and Tim from the sci-fi podcast called Vadercast. In the waning moments of FedCon Cole interviewed me about Escape 2 Earth and the 2nd book in the series that will be out late next month. I am usually apprehensive about doing interviews because of the cookie cutter type of standard (pre rehearsed) questions and the rush, rush to quickly get it done in order to move on to the next interview but these guys were different, they took their time and asked great questions. For me FedCon was about the people, a mix of business and pleasure. Where else could you go and meet a husband and wife who are both Archaeologist, and three generations of guys from the same family who are all fans of Sci fi? Yes, canceling the convention midway sucked big time but it is the new found friendships that make things suck a little less.
