I received another email from George (see the previous blog entry) today, 8/21/07...
Ahhhhhh, have finished book 2. Loved it. When can I expect book 3 to be available? Everybody has gone thru the “rift” now and all are heading East including our “friend” the big bad snake.
Will book 3 end the story or is there a book 4 also?
I think I am enjoying this series as much or more than the kids. Book 1 took me one day to read and book two took me two days. Does that mean book 3 will take me 3 days?

Hi George,
Thank you again for writing .. I'm sooooooo tickled that you're enjoying the books! Honestly, I have total faith that young adults will enjoy the series, but I'm so afraid of how adults will feel about it and my writing. I want everyone who reads it to react just like you have, being totally into the story and enjoying the direction that the story is going, but another part of me realizes that I won't be able to please everyone. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me and helping me to see that adults (unbiased ones at that) can enjoy it as well!
I'm actually working on book 3 today (believe me, this is progress as I work full time, am raising 3 teenagers as a single mother on my own, and have various other activities [volleyball, book signings or events every weekend, etc]) and have almost 80 pages (FINALLY) in my first draft) .. I'm anticipating that I'm going to end up with about the same size book as the first two (between 220-250 pages total). I'd like to keep them all about the same size for uniformity's sake...
As for the end of the series, book 3 will NOT be the end. I'm actually thinking at this point that there will be at least 5-6 total in the series, but that is totally dependent on how sidetracked I get as I continue the series. I have an idea of where it will end up, but am pretty much working a paragraph at a time to get there. Dragon's Blood was initially written to be about dragons, and you see how that ended up! Right now I see the end of the series having a major battle between one of the evil sorcerers met in The Prisoner and the children .. and perhaps other creatures they will encounter along the way.
