Hope, Harmony and Goodwill 1/8/2009 11:43:48 AM
In these trying times, I set out the other week in search of Hope, Harmony, and Goodwill. These are three actual towns on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Well, maybe "towns" is an exaggeration, but they are all on the official state map. Though I should mention that Harmony, with about 30 homes, is a veritable metropolis compared to Hope and Goodwill. My purpose in making this trek across the Chesapeake Bay bridge wasn't for simple uplift. It was also for a column I write called "Hidden Maryland" in the bi-monthly magazine, Maryland Life. My Hope, Harmony, and Goodwill column will be appearing in the March-April issue of the publication. The story will not be on-line, so those who'd like to know more will have to obtain a copy, which can often be found at most doctors and dentists offices, hairdresser salons, and beauty and barber shops within Maryland, or by contacting the magazine directly.
