Family History Research is Never Ending 7/25/2008 9:23:39 PM
In Genealogy, researching and Documenting is a never ending process for those who are seeking answers. Over the past twenty or so years, I have been documenting my maternal, and paternal family lines. I have traveled to Virginia, Pennsylvania, and archives here in California seeking answers. During the process, my mother, who was my biggest fan, passed on. I wrote, articles and published a book on my findings (Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color, Lulu Press, July 2004), and appeared on C-Spans' Book TV.
I am continuing to receive information and documents on my ancestors. In fact, I have received more information, and other venues have opened up since I published my first book, Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color. I am now in the process of writing another book to add the additional lines of my family tree.
I also believed that proving Native American lines would be a difficult task. Yet, I have proved several Native Ancestors. The inter racial lines are somewhat tricky, but not impossible. There is always a way around the brick walls, and blocks. There is no impossible task, it just requires diligence.
Yes, it is an on going process, and I am looking forward to the next discovery.
