Hello all--

  Just discovered AuthorsDen and have set up my 10 books for your consideration. I've been writing for a couple years now in the fantasy/adventure area.

  My first series,The Morcyth Saga, is an epic fantasy spanning 7 books. I initially began writing due to the way other authors were keeping me waiting and waiting for their next installment. So since I have always loved the genre of fantasy, I figured I'd give it a go.

  Initially I wanted a series with limited plot lines to follow. I grew tired of having to reread preceding installments of certain series whenever the next one came out. I want my readers to be able to pick up the next book in any given series and not have more than one or two chapters go by before it all comes back.

  Another aspect of my books is the curtailing of discription. I know, many of you out there really like a detailed book, but for me, I tended to skip past descriptive areas to get to the good stuff. Of course, almost every time, I went back and read those passages anyway in case I might have missed something important. Therefore, I allow the reader's imagination to fill in the blanks. Case in point. When my very first book, The Unsuspecting Mage, was making the rounds of family and friends before publication, one person suggested that I describe James' bedrooom in more detail. I didn't. If you know a teenage boy, you will know what his room looks like. Much of my writing is that way.

  Last and certainly not least, timeliness. As a reader I hated to wait between installments. A year? Two? I don't think so. I promise that my readers will not have to wait longer than 6 months at the utmost between installments. Right now, the longest time has been 4 months, the quickest, 2.

  The Morcyth Saga came from an idea I had been tossing around for years. What if someone from our world with a role playing background suddenly found themselves in a world of magic. That is what happens to James, the hero/main character.

  In my second series, The Broken Key Trilogy, I diverged slightly and created a world that was similar to a role playing game. The main characters start out as nothing and gradually attain skill and ability. There is magic, mainly in the form of scrolls, spells, and potions. Dungeons of course for I do love D&D, and the acquisition of treasure. Traps? Of course, what dungeon adventure would be complete without them.

  All in all I've had a blast writing, and for the most part, readers have been receptive. They are categorized as young adult, which by and large are the ones who have enjoyed them the most, though readers of all ages (even 64yrs) have embraced them.

  Hope you give them a try and enjoy reading them as much as I have writing them. I am approachable and answer every email sent to me, provided it's not laced with profanity. Readers are important and I want to know what they have to say, good or bad.
