How it all began With the recent news coming from Texas about the polygamous FLDS cult I thought it a good time to remind people that my novel "September Dawn" takes you through the start of polygamy in America and why it has always been a "thorn in the flesh" of the United States. In fact, if it were not for the Civil War, it is very likely that the United States would have waged war against Utah. Read why the US was on the brink of war. Also, polygamy factored greatly in the Mountain Meadow Massacre.
