Longing 9/3/2008 7:01:07 AM
This is part two of "Deep Calls unto Deep" Before you begin to read this, please lay aside the dictionary and thesaurus. This is not an exercise in intellectualism, but of spiritual understanding and inserting the key into our manacles.
Depression, Oppression, and Longing are indeed not only different in source but act on different faculties within us.
Using a universal foundation that we have a tri-part nature; body, soul and spirit; and these make us world, self conscious respectively. Depression is typically a dysfunction of the soul, spurred on much like a bone spur through an irritant. This barb causes a self-gestation, giving rise to a vortex of self woe, consuming everything within its path.
Oppression is an act of discernment, indicating a presence, which is not conducive for spiritual health and well being. This is not initiated nor initially detected physically. I say this to ensure a clear understanding, this is not a “goose-pimples” reactionary scenario. This physical expression is just that, a physical manifestation of a secondary reaction
Longing is not a self initiated movement. It is an experience, which does not over whelm you, yet it does seat itself deep within you, ushering you onto either a place or event. It is an experience, which wells up from deep within you, leading you to a time and place, which is beyond you in all capacities. You cannot dismiss it, you may resist, you may even attempt to stifle, yet, you cannot evade its calling
In my last notation, entitled “Deep calls unto Deep” It is indeed deep within that you will find this foundation and begin to ascend the ladder. This ladder has five (5) rungs; they are presented in proper sequence. “Reading leads to knowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, which leads to meditation, which leads to contemplation.
You cannot begin to ascend, unless deep calls unto deep. It is important to first know where is the voice coming from? Then to properly “sense”, not “feel” your way to the ladder, and then and only then, can you properly ascend. Stop and participate in each step, ensure a strong footing and a proper hand placement and grip Wait, listen and respond on each step. Time has no boundaries, there is no rush, since there is not a competitive objective to achieve. We are being called, we wait, listen and respond Peace,
