As the characters mention there are as many ways of defining and practicing D/s as there are people who practice it. What I hope to show with the books is the beauty, love and trust that is D/s as well as showing that D/s, in its many forms, is far more pervasive in society than people realize.
YES NICE GIRLS (AND BOYS) DO THIS FOR FUN
After nearly four years of work I'm proud to say that book one of The Lovers is complete. I received word yesterday that Publish America wanted me to submit the full manuscript; I don't know if it's been accepted yet but should know by the end of this week. With book one likely headed for the printers, book two is well in hand at 103 pages and about 37,000 words, and book 3 is on the planning board.
Four years is a long time to spend on a 234 page novel but I couldn't work on it full time and there were times that it sat for months with out me writing one line. Once I made the decision to go ahead and try to get it published I knew I had to find the time to finish the book.
Being in the lifestyle I knew that the way the general public saw us was not the way we actually are. These books are my attempt to right the wrongs done to our lifestyle by pop culture. It is my hope that people will find that our lifestyle is not hazardous to some ones health, nor is it all that perverse. In fact we live with deep trust, love and respect and I can guarantee that the communication between D/s couples is much greater than in many non-D/s relationships. The reasons for this will be found as the reader works their way through this book and glimpses the life of Peter, Lorna and the other major characters.
To any lifestyler reading this book:
It is not my intention to imply that all D/s, M/s relationships work the way that Peter’s and Lorna’s does. Indeed many don’t work this way. What I am trying to show here is how it can work as well as the problems that lifestyle couples can have in their day to day lives. I will let you know now that I refer to all dominants as Dom’s whether they are Master, Mistress, Dom, or Domme’. To those who know me, you know that this multiple moniker system really gets on my nerves. Since all Masters and Mistresses are dominants I just go with Dom for all of them. Like wise since all slaves are submissives I go with sub for all the submissives. This does not stop the characters from using Mistress or Master if it is appropriate for them. I only hold to this during my narration of events. Some of you, in fact many of you, will not agree with this but it is the way I have been for some time.
