Goalden Girl' Now Back On Online 'Shelves' 5/7/2008 8:41:21 AM
It was a pain in the neck having to amend the chapter headings on 'Goalden Girl' from the bold outline typeface to the plain bold, just because the distribution printers couldn't pick it up (Lulu's printers could!!), but fingers and legs crossed that the new copies are OK now. It was even more of a pain when the title started to dwindle on Amazon and the other sites, and disappeared altogether from Tesco!! It's back now, though.
The 'Search Inside' for GG has appeared on the Amazon sites and looks cool, but 'See Inside' for B&N won't be easy to set up because of legal contracts between B&N and Lulu, so that's out. Amazon are more user friendly - but I think it might have helped my cause better had I given them the correct 10 digit ISBN on the pdf file!!
I am such a plank! I thought the 10 digit ISBN was the 13 digit ISBN without the 978!! I ought to learn to read!!
I'm really pleased with the positive feedback I've had for 'Goalden Girl'. I had a good review from BookIdeas.com and am awaiting another from a US site. Doesn't seem to be too much in the way of UK sites willing to review a POD/self-published book for free - one place said they'd do it for £25!! I feel an article coming on, about the difficulties of free or low-cost marketing for your book.
Not to mention all the effort it takes, and how it takes you away from your writing!
Nearly finished 'Abbie's Rival', but can't decide whether to go with Published by Lulu or Published by You. The latter is cheaper because it gives 10 ISBNs, but does Lulu have more clout?
