Breast Cancer can be a very formidable challenge. However, when you can face it with a clear head and a knowledge that you are being carried, it becomes an adventure in faith. One night late December 2000,I was doing my breast examination and as I probed deep into my armpit I encountered a small lump, which I did not remember feeling before.After mamograms, somograms and large tissue removal, I was diagnosed with cancer in the second stage.I was advised by the Doctors that I would have to remove my breast and undergo powerful chemotherapy, because I had three lymph nodes involved. The news came as a shock because there was no history of breast cancer in my family and I had maintained a fairly healthy life style up to that point. When my husband and I received the news, we held each other for a while as it sank in. Somewhere during those first few moments a thought came to me. " Fear or Faith: Pick One". And without hesitation, I picked Faith. From that moment on I have not looked back. I have been through the fire, but not for one moment was I forsaken. God has been with me. Instead of turning away, I constantly affirmed His presence and looked for all the miracles and angels that proliferated during those times of greatest challenge.
Angels and miracles are everywhere but we must be open to receiving the blessings. When we give-in to fear and worry; we turn away from God. He promises that he would never leave us or forsake us and I hung on to that promise. With the vision that I was being divinely carried, I was able to remain in the awe and openess that preceeds the discovery of a miracle.
As I went through the aftermath of Chemotherapy and faced having to be on medication for the rest of my life for all of the complications that surfaced related to the treatment, I asked for a miracle and recived news of an Institute in Oregon that specializes in helping people develop the skills and habits that result in Optimal Health.With their help, I have conquered those symtoms without medication and now I am helping others do the same.
Choose this day whom you will serve! I choose God.
