The Old Psychadelic West! Jordan Krall never fails to amaze.
In his latest offering, "Fistful of Feet", a stranger walks into the dusty desert town of Screwhorse, dragging a wooden donkey behind him and straight into a shroomy cloud vision of Hell. The cattle have tentacles instead of udders. One of the whores has twenty toes. The hermaprodite fancies herself a singer and the owner of the town's General Store, for the right price, will sell you a double-tailed scorpion. You shove the tails up your beak and snort the halucinagenic stingers. And that just gets you started. Damn!
"Fistful of Feet" is filled to the near-breaking point with so much vibrant, mad imagery you can practically taste the cinnamon-tinged salt-breezy musky menstrual flow as it spills from the pages. Forget trying to hang 'em high, or painting the town red. Sergio and Clint could never have imagined a wild west this far-out!
Just like his other two offerings Piecemeal June and Squid Pulp Blues, Jordan Krall somehow manages to tickle and smack the mighty Dragon of Weird on its big scaly rump without ever letting the big bastid run away with the story. He holds onto the tail and the tale with his strong and lucid writing. I don't know how in the holy hell he does this, but does it he do in this icredible fetish fantasy world of white hats and black hearts. I am a big fan.
