Jack London Would Marvel as the World Wide Web Brings Together Authors and Readers 9/25/2010 12:44:51 PM
Jack London was Boyd Thomas London’s distant cousin. Jack London would marvel at the World Wide Web, which is a writer’s dream. It allows writers to tell their own personal stories, and to state the impact their books are making on the world. Many newspapers printed articles on Jack London, but he did not have the opportunity to have his own personal web pages on author websites such as http://www.authorsden.com while he was alive.
If Jack London had a webpage on AuthorsDen, it might begin with his Credo:
I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out
in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom
of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time. ~Jack London
Boyd Thomas London wishes that Jack London could experience being an author on today’s internet. Jack London would marvel as the World Wide Web brings together authors and readers.
