Home after the Dressage Show The dressage show is over and we are home. I'm tired, but Maxx seems just right!
The first test on Maxx was Fourth Level Test 1. The most interesting incident related to the ride was that the judge thought Ellen was riding Fourth 3. As a result, Ellen was called for three errors which disqualifies the rider. Ellen told the judge that she knew the test that was in the book and she was riding it. It wasn't until she kept riding that the judge understood the paper mistake and allowed her to go out of the arena, enter again, and ride the Fourth 1 Test. It was strange to watch, but we are thankful the mistake was finally corrected. The judge was very accommodating.
On Sunday Maxx and Ellen rode their Fourth Level Test 2 test which went very well. Maxx did clean changes and his canter pirouettes!!! We were excited and proud of him. A lady who knew Maxx before we did said she didn't recognize him. He looked youthful, show ready, strong, and beautiful - especially for a 22 year old.
Ellen also rode two high scoring tests on WOW. Judging Maxx's body language I don't think Maxx likes her riding another horse!
