God and Science: Where Did God Come From? 10/30/2012 7:40:26 AM
For every Blog Post to follow, we are taking a more structured route to answer all the questions posed on the Home page of our website. We will use our branding phrase, “God and Science,” for each post because our overall purpose is to blend science with spirituality so as to understand God and what we term, spiritual metaphysics.
I used to think that the most important question to ask was, “Do you believe in God?” Perhaps this has been the universal question since the beginning of time ― to distinguish those who have faith from those who don’t. However, about ten years ago when I was writing my first book, Divinely Inspired: Spiritual Awakening of a Soul, my colleague Phil, who was helping set up my manuscript into book form, wryly commented, “And where did He (God) come from?”
I have been turning Phil’s question over in my mind these past ten years and trying to answer this question is the main reason I decided to write a new book, Putting God Into Einstein’s Equations: Energy of the Soul, with my deceased wife Marcia. Although I can tell you how God can live forever and is all knowing based upon energy science, I won’t be able to answer the question, “Where did God come from?” The Bible prophesies that in the Messianic Age we shall know God as the waters of the sea. Therefore this question can only be answered in the future.
The problem with such questions is that it is the old story of, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” You need the egg to hatch into a chicken but you need the chicken to hatch the egg. The same is true for the origin of life.
You need both protein enzymes and DNA to create life but each one cannot be created without the other. DNA transcribes proteins but enzyme proteins are necessary to make DNA. Scientists have never been able to make either one of these large macromolecules in the laboratory.
What to do? You just have to believe that God Is. That He was there before anything or anyone else. Science deals with answers. At this point in time, spirituality needs also to incorporate Faith.
