Halloween is the perfect holiday to North Carolina native, Micheal Rivers. Listening to the voices of the dearly departed is as common to him as having morning coffee. Micheal says that life in the paranormal world isn’t for the faint of heart. His ghost stories reach the realm of a world that’s just beyond our reach. Micheal possesses a keen sensitivity to the invisible beings that walk among us. Reading his personal hair-raising experiences with ghosts may even make a believer out of a skeptic like me.

 Micheal was born with another exceptional talent. His stories have a beautiful, lyrical prose that draws the reader into a comfortable state before the pounce of the imminent surprise. Although I struggle with spirituality and usually shy away from the paranormal, I really enjoy reading Micheal’s work. His writing touches my heart because he writes about my beloved home state. Ghosts of the North Carolina Shores andThe Black Witch bring alive the bedtime stories told in old beach houses along the Outer Banks. His third book,Moonlight on the Nantahala, is a soft and beautiful love story with a paranormal twist shadowed by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains. In Verliege, he weaves an intriguing tale of suspense set in a haunted mansion far back in the hills of West Virginia.  History and folklore come to life again in Micheal’s latest work, Appalachia Mountain Folklore. I look forward to picking up his new release of North Carolina yarns and tales available on Amazon in December.
