Out in Public at Ottawa Book Fair 6/10/2013 5:45:41 PM
I'll be making one of may rare, and somewhat nerve-wracking, forays into the public realm with my novel, The Guilty, this Saturday, June 15, at the Ottawa Small Press Book Fair. (Once again, I find that I much prefer the anonymity of the internet, as opposed to trying to flog my book out in public.)
The book fair will be held at the Jack Purcell Community Centre, room 203, on 320 Jack Purcell Lane (corner Elgin and Gilmour Streets), in Ottawa, Ontario, from noon until five PM. I'll be among many dozens of other authors and small publishers, trying to get potential readers to buy copies of our books. I'm pretty sure I won't find myself sitting alone at my booth while paying customers flock to the competition all day, although I can't say the possibility hasn't crossed my mind. I'm planning on sending out the occasional tweets about the fair and any interesting customers who drop by.
I have a box full of books, and some nice flyers with quotes from reviews I got. All I need now is to figure out how this whole Twitter business works.
