I was just thinking about the 4th of July and it's significance to us. Jesus said; "there shall be wars and rumors of war," down to the end of the ages. Most of us dread the thought of war, we would rather have peace. Sad to say that sometimes peace only comes through war. Some fight to kill another out of hatred, others fight to save another out of love. Some fight to dominate, oppress, and suppress. Others fight to liberate, to restore and to preserve. Some have lost their minds, others their limbs, and still others their lives, in this great and noble cause, of preserving and protecting the rights of their people to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. When war comes no one rejoices. When peace comes what a relief it is. But we must always remember that our peace as a nation has come at great cost. Many have given their all that we might live in peace. Does that not remind us of a greater sacrifice that affects the whole world? I think you know the story. Have a blessed 4th of July.
