I was browsing on my computer and came across an article which almost glorified a person of spiritual faith and commitment for condemning other people for their sin. Some who believe spend an inordinate amount of their time pointing out the iniquity of others. They seem to relish the fact that 'the bible says so,' of this sin or that sin. I couldn't help but remember the story of the woman caught in adultery and the almost gleeful way in which they brought her into the presence of Jesus. They were actually sneaking around trying to catch someone in the act of transgressing the law of Moses. And that was their justification to themselves in their shameless act of snooping around like peeping Toms. Their words to Jesus was that not only was this a sin they actually caught her in, but that the woman should be punished by stoning. Jesus pondered for a moment and stooped and wrote on the ground and then said, "he that is without sin cast the first stone." The impact of his words hit their conscience like a hurricane, and they slowly began to creep away. Some things are definitely wrong and sinful, but apparently, to lay bare the sin of another in the presence of others, without considering our own sins, is also very wrong in the eyes of the Lord.
