Who in his right mind would hide the treasure inside the lungs of a dying dinosaur? Gab and Alph explain that they cannot reveal their true identities because they are bound not to do so by their word of honor. This is in spite of the fact that Yah is the son of the Emperor! This is a review of Chapter 17: AquaSoil of “First Light / The Second Expedition” in the “Yah and the Space Cadets” series. This blog is published weekly in English and Spanish and is made up of three brief sections: a comment/glossary, a summary and an excerpt. We welcome your input and sincerely hope you enjoy our blog. Yah and the Space Cadets / First Light / The Second Expedition
Comment/Glossary: “Thrice-versa” = a new term invented by the system in imitation of vice-versa; this new term was immediately included in the “Dictionary of Idiotic Terms.”
Summary of Chapter 17 – AquaSoil
The expedition leaves planet GabAlph and returns to the Audacious. The hideous corpses, the birds of stone and the vertical shadows attack them again. Alph’s explanation is that now the expeditionary force knows where the treasure is. However, the cadets have no idea. Alph indicates that the expedition went right by the treasure and the creatures think that its members must have discovered it. To their horror, the treasure lies inside the lungs of a dying dinosaur. Yah, Ada and Sid discover a new way of making reports. The individuals that visited GabAlph obtained a new power.
Excerpt: … “We, that is, cadets Yah, Sid and Ada, recently visited Planet Desnyt where we discovered a hidden dwelling that, at one time or another, served as the residence of Bert Nostcal. What kind of report do we write?”
“A Discovery Report,” said the system emphasizing the word ‘discovery’ with a sarcastic tone.
Ada looked at Yah and Sid who were smiling; they then shrugged their shoulders like saying: “Well… that’s the name of the report.” Ada continued.
“While we were there, we encountered several individuals of different civilizations, among them the Erians. Can we use the same kind of report?”
“No, you should use an ‘Encounter Report,’” said the system, emphasizing the word ‘encounter,’ again with certain sarcasm. The system then proceeded with, “Attach this report to the ‘Discovery Report’ or vice versa,” answered the system.
“Okay, we’ve got that. However, later on we went to Planet GabAlph and there we explored a truncated pyramid, searched for the source of a brook and encountered a group of creatures that attacked us as we left the planet. What type of report do we use?” inquired Ada.
“An ‘Exploration Report,’ which you should then insert into a ‘Search Report,’ which itself should be inserted into an ‘Encounter Report,’ or ‘thrice-versa,’ answered the system.
“What do you mean by ‘thrice-versa?’” asked Ada.
“That it does not matter which report is included in which other report and, since there are three reports and I can’t think of a better word, I made up a new one for the ‘dictionary of idiotic terms,’ with which you seem to be very familiar,” answered the system.

Comentario/Glosario: «Triceversa» = un nuevo término inventado por el sistema imitando a la palabra viceversa; esta nueva voz se incluyó de inmediato en el ‘Diccionario de Términos Idiotas’.
Resumen del Capítulo 17 – AcuaTerra
La expedición sale del planeta GabAlf y vuelve a la Audaz. Los cadáveres repugnantes, las aves de piedra y las sombras verticales los volvieron a atacar. La explicación de Alf es que ahora la fuerza expedicionaria sabe dónde se encuentra el tesoro. Sin embargo, los cadetes no tienen la menor idea. Alf indica que la expedición pasó junto al tesoro y que las criaturas piensan que los miembros de la misma tuvieron que haberlo descubierto. Para su horror, el tesoro yace en el interior de los pulmones de un dinosaurio moribundo. Yah, Ada y Sid descubren una nueva forma de preparar los reportes. Los individuos que visitaron el planeta GabAlf obtuvieron un nuevo poder.
Extracto: … «Nosotros, es decir, los cadetes Yah, Sid y Ada, visitamos recientemente el planeta Desnyt donde descubrimos una vivienda oculta que, en algún momento dado, le sirvió de residencia a Berto Nostcal. ¿Qué clase de reporte escribimos?»
«Un Reporte de Descubrimiento», dijo el sistema haciendo énfasis en la palabra ‘descubrimiento’ con un tono sarcástico.
Ada miró a Yah y a Sid, quienes estaban sonriendo; y después subieron los hombros como diciéndole: «Bueno… ése es el nombre del reporte». Ada continuó.
«Mientras estuvimos allí, nos encontramos a varios individuos de diferentes civilizaciones, entre ellos los Erianos. ¿Podemos usar el mismo tipo de reporte?»
«No, en ese caso deben usar un ‘Reporte de Encuentro’», dijo el sistema, haciendo énfasis en la palabra ‘encuentro’, otra vez con cierto sarcasmo. Entonces, el sistema procedió diciendo: «Adjunta este reporte al ‘Reporte de Descubrimiento’ o viceversa».
«Bien, eso queda entendido. Sin embargo, más adelante fuimos al planeta GabAlf y allí exploramos una pirámide truncada, buscamos la fuente de un arroyuelo y nos encontramos con un grupo de criaturas que nos atacó mientras salíamos de ese planeta. ¿Qué tipo de reporte usamos?» inquirió Ada.
«Un ‘Reporte de Exploración’, el cual debes insertar en un ‘Reporte de Búsqueda’, mismo que, a su vez, debe estar insertado en un ‘Reporte de Encuentro’, o ‘triceversa’, contestó el sistema.
«¿Qué quieres decir con triceversa?» preguntó Ada.
«Que no importa cuál reporte esté incluido en cuál otro reporte y, como son tres, y no encontré la palabra, inventé una nueva para añadirla al ‘diccionario de términos idiotas’, con el cual ustedes parecen estar muy familiarizados», contestó el sistema.
