In this post, J.J. describes the mission and organization of the main ISU Wing that will play a pivotal role in the Reilly Campbell Chronicles and Book 1, Gunship. MISSION:
The 720th Inter Stellar (ISU) Wing is an integral part of the Galactic Special Operations Command (G-SOC) and is home-based at Rasilon Field in the Alpha Centauri system on Alpha Centauri Bb. The WIng is comprised of more than 1800 ISU pilots, Recon scouts, Cyber operators (CY-OP), Space Contingency Response teams (SCRT), Alien Rapid Response teams (ARRT), Special Mission Units (SMU), tactical space control party and various support personnel.
The 720th ISU organizes, trains and equips ISU forces to integrate, synchronize, and/or control the elements of cyber and space power in the galactic area of operations. It also provides long-range operational and logistics planning, and deploys command and control elements during galactic special operations force employment or deployment.
ISUs are specifically organized, trained and equipped to execute a myriad of special missions to enhance space operations deep in enemy territory and denied areas. They conduct reconnaissance, direct attack, specialized recovery, Alien response operations, collect intelligence and provide terminal capabilities for attacks against key enemy targets.
CY-OP members generate high fidelity, localized, mission tailored intelligence for ingress, employment, and egress of deep space, inter-planetary, inter-atmospheric, land, subterranean and specialty environmental forces in support of G-SOC elements.
WING COMPOSITION:
The Group has six units in the Alpha Centauri System on AC-Bb - the 110th Combat CY-OP, 127th Special Recon Scout/Sniper Brigade and 720th Inter Stellar Support Squad (I-S3), the 320th ISU, 373rd ISU and the 691st SCRT at Rasilon Field. Other units within the Alpha Centauri System include the 123rd ISU is located on Galant. The 121st ISU is located at Gadsdain Field on Alpha Centauri Ab in the Proxima System along with the 122nd ISU at Joint Base 7, Grey Landings Field on Kline-1 and the 71st Space Control Ops Squad at Fort Wyhine on Kline-2. There are several G-SOC SCRT and ARRT elements as well: the 17th SCRT in Freeport Field on Kline-1, the 181st ARRT at Joint Base 7 and the 146th SCRT and 707th ARRT on Galant.
The 720th ISU Wing is also the controlling agent for G-SOC’s two forward deployed elements: the 363rd ISU under the command of the 363rd Special Space Operations Group (S-SOG) on Gliese 581-D, Echo Base, in the Liberator System and the 321st ISU under the command of the 352nd S-SOG on Koi in the Keplar system.
The 123rd ISU and 125th ISU Galactic Guard units based on Galant augment the 720th ISU Wing in supporting Allied Organizational Command (AOC) galactic security objectives, humanitarian efforts and training within the Alpha Centauri System.
