Blogs by David Ravenwood Dad gets his 15 minutes of fame 10/26/2013 6:38:03 AMSeveral people think the video of a six-year-old girl's dad imitating her tantrum is funny. I think it's sad. All that time and energy spent on the video could instead go toward training the daughter how to behave. Many people say all kids throw tantrums. I don't believe this because my parents didn't allow me to do so. I was taught that no means no. And not after the 12th time, either. Tantrums caused two things: not getting what I wanted and getting in trouble for pushing it. Not pushing it still meant no, but there was no punishment either. So I didn't throw tantrums. My sister didn't either for the same reason. I don't think we are now warped adults because of it. At the time, I may not have understood why they said no, but I'm glad I was taught that the world doesn't revolve around me: tough love. We even got spanked sometimes. And we're still not warped.
