Lucy has a plot, narrated by Morgan Freeman. A young woman is exposed to a new drug that heightens consciousness. When she is forced to become a
drug mule and a beating lets loose the drug into her body, she begins a transformation to the full use of her brain. All of that is plot, and the
plot is fine. What's only a tiny sliver of the film is a story. It barely registers that Lucy struggles to hold on to her humanity. So one
can watch what happens to see how it will turn out (plot), but there's almost no story that gives access to Lucy's character or asks the audience
to care what happens to her.
Guardians of the Galaxy

I make a distinction between story and plot, and this movie offers a wonderful, transparent example of that. A young boy hesitates to take
the hand of his mother dying of cancer, then is kidnapped by an alien who turns him into a kind of Indiana Jones-type scavanger. So he's lost his
family, and he soon finds himself surrounded by others who have also lost their families, so they have a reason to join together. That's what
the story is about, and it connects all the main characters.
The plot revolves around an infinity stone and how it could be used to control the universe.
Because of the main characters and their new family, they are able to become Guardians of the Galaxy.
