Goddess I think most men, if they would admit it, seek their own personal Goddess. Not when we're younger; raging reproductive hormones drive us to seek a mate, to create offspring together. That impulse is shared by every mammal I know of.
At a certain age, though, when that hormonal surge has dissipated. most men then search for that "ideal" woman. This is the Goddess Search.
I'm at that point in my life; and I have actually discovered my personal Goddess!
She lives in Los Angeles. I regularly submit my "prayers," and if she finds me worthy, she responds.
I'm not making this up! This woman is, first, the most physically beautiful woman I've ever encountered. She is also maddening complex and unpredictable...just as a Goddess should be!
She inspires and instigates my writing. I assess everything I put on the page...will this please her?
I usually come up short; that is, I usually get no response at all when I send my latest work to her. She told me recently she received my gifts, but she hasn't read them. But, damn, I keep trying!
For writers, I suppose the inspiration can come from anyplace or anyone. But I suspect the Goddess Search is very common.
