Life Lessons From North By Bike! 8/14/2015 8:35:38 AM
Lessons A number of years ago, I made a solo, cross country bicycle ride. (See NORTH BY BIKE, www.lulu.com/hobopoet). I often recall that ride as a metaphor for life itself. Here are some of the lessons/insights: 1. The world is an incredibly beautiful place, filled with mystery and magic! 2. Slow down! Rushing past everything leaves a person blind to these wonders. 3. The world is filled with hills and valleys. Sometime, we go up; sometimes, we go down. Can't change that! 4. No matter what, keep pedaling! We can coast sometimes, but the real secret is found in constant action and effort! 5. When one is hungry, eat; when one is weary, rest! 6. Every 'ride' ends eventually. Don't hold on too long to anything!
