If you are so bored at work that you count the minutes until the day is over, that's a sign your job is not the right fit. It could be that the work isn't challenging enough for you. You may also realize the field of work holds no interest for you anymore. Perhaps you've experienced or learned everything you hoped to at this job and are ready for something new.

2. You daydream of another profession.

You may frequently imagine yourself working at a more fulfilling career. It could be something you have always had a passion for but never dreamed you could make a living at. It could be something you aren't qualified for because of your education level. If you find yourself longing for a different job, it might be time to do something about it. Get that degree, or launch a business to turn your hobby into a new career.

3. You have physical symptoms of stress.

It may not be obvious to you that you would like to find a new work situation, but your body may be telling you loud and clear. Insomnia at night is a clear sign that something is wrong in your life. Tension headaches can be a symptom there is stress at work. Maybe you hate the type of work you do. Maybe your coworkers or supervisors make your job more difficult that it needs to be. Even if you love the field of work you are in, if your job is causing you stress, it may be time to move on.

4. You find yourself depressed.

A full-time job may take up most of your waking hours. If you are unhappy at work, it can start to weigh you down. If you find it hard to get out of bed in the morning, your job could be the reason why. If you find yourself complaining to friends and family frequently about your job, it might be time for a change. Life is too long to suffer in an unhappy situation.

5. Your heart is not in it anymore.

If you used to be excited to get to work and now you find your enthusiasm waning, it may be time for a change of scenery. If you had passion for work once, you may feel like you can get it back. However, it may be time to start another career entirely. It's possible you have nurtured other interests over the years and now have a passion for a different line of work. It might be time to start all over again in a new field.

6. Your job was meant to be temporary.

Maybe you took your job when you first graduated from college because it was the only thing available at the time. It's possible you only took the job because the pay was great and the commute was short. That can be fine for a while when you need something to pay the bills or help you get experience. However, if you stay in your temporary job for too long, you may become restless and unhappy. If you find yourself dreading the workday, it may be time to move on to the job you always intended to be doing.

7. You take no pride in your work.

If people ask what you do and you answer in as few words as possible to avoid the subject, that can be a sign you are embarrassed by your job. If you always expected to be somewhere else in your career by now, it can be painful to feel stuck where you are. Maybe you hate the industry you are working in, or maybe you just want to be at a different level in your field. If you feel you aren't doing what you always dreamed of doing, it may be time to get on the right path.

There could be many reasons why you want to change your job. With careful planning, making the leap to a new job can be painless. Save money for expenses related to a job search or the start of a freelancing career. Find an employment opportunities in real estate field or try to get into a big business to maximize your skills. Get a new degree if one is needed. It can take time to take the steps toward a better job, but it may boost your spirits to know you are headed in the right direction.
