Without the Horses You Can't Win the Race! Part 13 6/14/2016 1:51:59 PM
Hypothesis being proven in my own coaching! Interestingly, coaches tend to be quite secretive when confronted with making comments regarding their players. They are very guarded in their responses, perhaps afraid those utterances may bring some sort of negativity upon themselves or their team.
I set out with this research hoping to get coaches honest opinions regarding how the very talented on their team may have boosted the play of the whole team and of course the success overall. Without those talented players where would the team be? Would a poor record mean the coach did a poor job? Would a winning record indicate a superior coaching job? Back to the original thesis: "Without the Horses You can't win the race!" Better players, better results. But, what can be said about the coaching achievement? Is the coach successful even with a losing record as long as he/she has built good character in the team and can be proud of the players impact on their community when they graduate? I say yes!
