Film Review of "Cake: A Love Story" by Judy Joy Jones

"Cake: A Love Story" is delightful! This short film opened my heart once more to the magic that only love can bring. It made me hope that in one life or another; I would find "My Harry." I watched the film again to try and find the secret of Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence's undying love for one another. I cannot wait to see the next episode of this enchanting romantic tale.
The film was adapted from Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence's romantic memoir; "It Had to be Us", which is based on their own lives. We discover that they were married for twenty-four years, divorced for almost two decades, and then meet once more - only to find their love for one another had grown despite their long estrangement. The hotel room was my favorite scene as the audience gets to listen to the private thoughts of Harry and Elizabeth.
Misha Zubarev - producer, director and writer of the film - did an excellent job and was ably assisted by V. Ulea. I want to see more of their work.
Zubarev's original song; "Remember the Day" is absolutely perfect for "Cake: A Love Story"
Richard Vernon and Debra lord Cooke portray Harry and Elizabeth so well, were I to meet them today, I would believe they really are Harry and Elizabeth. Great casting job!
Nancy Lombardo and George Bettinger, who play Elizabeth's friends, were obviously made for these roles. They are both outstanding.
Dialogue, set decorations, costumes, music as well as every other detail of the film are well thought through. Viewers are the benefactors of the hard work that went into bringing the magical story of Harry and Elizabeth Lawrence to life.
