Cute children's story about the animals from "downunder." Kobi Borrows a Pouch
Remember a few reviews back when we visited a little girl named Ellie. She lived in Australia, a land far away from America.
Today we are going back to Australia. We are going to follow the adventures of Kobi. Kobi is a baby Koala. Do you know what a Koala is? A Koala is a cute little furry animal that is from Australia. They are born and live in their mother’s pouches until they are old enough - and smart enough - to live on their own.
Kobi doesn’t like living in his mother’s pouch and is very anxious to be smart enough to go out and find a gum tree to live in all by himself. He is so anxious to be a big strong Koala that when his mother is taking a nap he sneaks out and climbs down the tree to strike out on his own.
Walk with Kobi as he rambles through the bush and meets up with a variety of animals. They all tell Kobi that he must be bush-smart to survive on his own. Kobi is a know-it-all and tells everyone he meets that he is bush-smart already and he will do quite well on his own.

Kobi Borrows a Pouch is a fun story about a cute and sometimes, not so smart, baby Koala. As you turn the pages you will meet up with many different animals. These are animals that would not see here in America. You will learn their names and a little about them.
At the end of the book there is even a Aussie vocabulary page where you can learn all the Aussie words found in the book.
I really like Kobi. I would love to have him come over and play with me sometime. I think he would be a fun friend, even if he think’s he is bush-smart.
The illustrations are very colorful and exciting and show a very real caricature of the animals of Australia.
