Why Pacific Sail? 2/12/2021 12:50:48 PM
Why write a novel in the first place? Pacific Sail is the first work in a tryptic of novels I’ve coined Pacific Saga. Truth be told, Pacific Saga started as a file folder on a flash drive. I knew the book I wanted to write; an adventure on a sailing ship. I knew why I wanted to write it; I was bored! I missed the communal creativity I had experienced during a career in live theatre. In retirement, my creative itch had found no scratch. By definition, sailing ships are historical. That meant research. Ooooh, I liked the sound of that. I never did get much use out of the “Research Methods and Resources” seminar forced upon me at Tulane Grad School in New Orleans.
